Press Release: Patrons & Charitable Status


This week has been a hectic one, with just a month left to go until we stage the first UK Veterans Film Festival we have also had two bits of good news. Firstly, Patrons. We are really happy to announce that Kirsten Orsborn is to join us as one of our new Patrons.

Kirsten is  known as the Forces New Sweetheart as she has performed many times now for the armed forces weekend twice in Sunderland/Bristol and this year will be in Cardiff. Kirsten travels to many places with her performing, Kirsten performed with The Bachelors for the start of there 50th anniversary tour in Cambridge. Kirsten performed with The American Drifters, Kirsten has been touring the UK to many military bases e.g. Limpstone Commando Training base, Chelsea PensionersLondon Royal Hospital, she also supports the royal sea cadets St Athens and is very much involved in supporting project 65 Degrees North with Peter Bowker amputee. Kirsten also released a single called April Wine in 2014 for the charity BLESMA which is still available on amazon and iTunes to download funds to to BLESMA.

And we are also proud to announce two other Patrons Jess Davies who is a model and a successful business woman from Aberystwyth, also the daughter to one of our volunteers. Plus we have Ian Davies another Welsh success who is one of the  Directors of Global Media and Core Live events along with being a freelance music journalist.  So, we are very proud to welcome all three of these wonderful and talented individuals who share our goals as Patrons for Veteran Films. We look forward to working with them all in the future.

Our second piece of good news is that this week, in fact on Friday at night we received an email confirming that we are now officially registered as a charity with the Charity Commission. The culmination of 2 years of work with the Board of Directors, now Trustees.

So a final big THANK YOU to everyone who has made this possible.And don't forget come and join us at the Veteran Film Festival this November and share in the awesome 40 plus films about veterans we have from across the globe.
