“The incredibly film Kajaki showed in the most graphic way imaginable the risks and dangers that our servicemen and women put themselves in on our behalf. Warfare is indeed horrific and the film showed that to the full in its portrayal of British servicemen in Afghanistan. This was a true story of young men risking their lives and in so doing enduring the most horrific injuries imaginable.
“As a Member of Parliament, who can be charged, on occasions, through votes in the House of Commons, of supporting military action around the world, this film illustrates what that often can sadly entail. People being maimed for life, or making the ultimate sacrifice and losing their lives. This will not be lost on me in any future votes that I may be involved with in the House of Commons. Horrific though this film was, it brought the realities of modern warfare home in a very real way.”
